Custom fabric, clearly explained

Before we make your fabric.

The practical questions buyers ask before sending a design, ordering a sample or requesting a quote.

Design & techniques

Which fabrics can DawnForth customize?

We focus on woven, yarn-dyed jacquard and embroidered fabric, including flat, sequin and bead embroidery. We can also assess a jacquard base with embroidery when the project calls for both.

Can you work from my artwork or a reference fabric?

Yes. Share artwork, a technical brief or a reference you have the right to use. We review the construction and intended use before proposing a sample. A reference fabric does not automatically mean every detail can or should be copied exactly.

Can jacquard and embroidery be combined?

Often, yes. We first check the base fabric, embroidery technique, motif placement and finishing route. Feasibility, sampling cost and production price are quoted for the specific design.

MOQ & samples

What is the minimum order quantity?

Our starting MOQ is 500 meters for jacquard and for embroidered fabric. The final minimum for a specific construction, motif and set of colorways is confirmed in the quotation.

How long does sampling take?

Typical sampling is 4–5 days for jacquard and 7–8 days for embroidery after the necessary details are confirmed. A complex design or requested revision may change the schedule; we confirm the timing before starting.

Is the sampling fee refundable?

Sampling is paid. For an order of 2,000 meters or more, the sampling fee is refunded under the terms confirmed in the quotation. We explain the fee and what the sample covers before work begins.

Pricing & production

How do you price a custom fabric?

The quote depends on the construction, yarn or base fabric, motif complexity, colors, quantity, finishing and delivery terms. Our factory teams coordinate the route from sample to shipment, which helps us offer competitive, project-specific pricing. We do not promise a fixed savings percentage.

Can you work toward my target price?

Tell us the target price and which features must stay the same. Where feasible, we can evaluate changes to yarn, composition, construction or embroidery details and test an alternative in a sample. Any saving is confirmed by the approved specification and quote.

What should I send to get a useful quotation?

Send the artwork or authorized reference, intended use, desired composition, weight and width, colors, estimated meters per design or color, target price, delivery date and destination. If some details are unknown, send what you have; we will identify the missing decisions.

What happens after I approve the sample?

We confirm the approved physical sample and agreed specifications, quantity, price, schedule and shipment terms before bulk production. We then coordinate the relevant weaving, embroidery, finishing and shipment stages for that order.

Do you make finished garments?

No. DawnForth supplies custom fabric by the meter. We work with fabric buyers, brands and garment makers who select or purchase their own fabric.

Have a fabric in mind?

Send your design or authorized reference, estimated meters and target price. We will review the brief and discuss a workable route.
